A New Beginning - The Obama Era

I have a lot to say, just not sure where to start. So many times throughout the campaign I felt the need to speak out but never got around to it. Complacency, procrastination are words that come to mind when i think of reasons why it didn't h appen. But I've been moved again to get up and write but this time fel as though the call to act by our new President-elect has guilted me into trying all over to make good on my promises and intentions.
I am sure that everyone has their reason as to why they were moved and/or inspired or not as to why they will or will not begin or not a new life of sorts. For me, there are a myriad of resons for which I will try to outline below as well as my personal development plan for the first-term of this presidency of Barack Obama.
As President-elect Obama pledges to the American people to make good on his promises, I make the same to my personal and professional development as well as to my new President. Without further ado, here are my promises for the first-term (4 yrs): (SIDE NOTE: I suspect that if everybody, especially those who voted for Obama, commit to better themselves and/or their community, we will all be better off in four years)
1. Prioritize decisions to go to school, get a better job, do more with entrepreneurial venture or a safe combination of them all.
2. Be more informed. I equipped myself with knowledge of the issues to make a more informed decision, and I vow to stay abreast of the issues.
3. Read more, much more. For pleasure, knowledge, education and information. Learn more about our history to better appreciate where we are headed.
4. Better my health, be more understanding, better listener, friend, sister, daughter, aunt, godmother, wife and mother.
5. Take time daily to reflect on the day.
There are many more things that i am sure I will add to this list as this first term of my new life and the Obama era begin.
Well, my fellow Americans, this is my start and i invite you to comment, critique, and suggest as readers see fit. I am anxious to unite with like minds to build our country and lives from the bottom up.

So here I am, Signed, Sealed, Delivered - I'm Yours!

What's on UR MYND??
